Now we need you to be able to scale even further, by coding the end-user part of our web application and make it interact in a smooth way with our current technology.
This will help bring our tech available to everyone to solve the pain of home search on a larger scale.

Job Description

Mission

As Lead Backend Engineer, your mission will be to improve HomeMatchers efficiency & customers experience with a state of the art web application.
You will ensure a high standard of coding, following best practices and continuous integration processes.

What you will do

  • Deploy to production our end-user platform powered by our Home Search API (shipped by Q2 2020)
  • Implement a scoring algorithm to automate home matching
  • Define & implement, in partnership with operations team, features that will help scale operation processes
  • Maintain a highly-scalable and resilient infrastructure
  • Improve and maintain our Home Search API by improving data quality (data deduplication, NLU, Geoparsing)

Competencies

Essentials:

  • Technical Skill: Fluency in Python & Django is a must. Knowledge of another language is a +. You have solid knowledge in software engineering and backend applications

Important:

  • Communication: Able to explain and popularize the technical issues & decisions
  • Work Experience: You already have 2+ years of experience as an engineer, preferably in a startup environment
  • Technical agnosticism: Understand the trade-offs in employing different engineering solutions to a problem, valuing pragmatism over idealism

Bonus:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: you already built something from scratch
  • Real estate enthusiast: You are excited about disrupting a non-digitalized market and are interested about the real estate market
